Government Contractors

This June, the GSA launched the "Greening the Supply Chain" initiative. The GSA is leveraging its purchasing power to promote sustainable procurement in recognition of the critical importance of making the Federal government more sustainable. As part of this initiative, the GSA announced that government vendors (in both service and product sectors) will receive preferential source selection status in contract award decisions if they can demonstrate that they are (a) accountable for their carbon emissions, (b) have a plan in place to minimize emissions, and (c) have been verified by a third-party.

Above Green, LLC’s GHG reporting service is designed to help contractors meet these voluntary reporting targets. Since 2007, Above Green has provided sustainability consulting for more than 100 clients in federal, non-governmental, and commercial business sectors.

GHG reporting services include:

-Collection of appropriate data points

-Calculation of carbon emissions (CO2e)

-Identification of opportunities for reduction and neutralization

-Roll-up information to create a "Corporate Sustainability Report" (sample)

-Distribution to news outlets (New York Times, USA Today, etc.) via AP release
